Henrik Eiben’s Giggle London is a refined exploration of colour, material, and form in four equal-sized panels. Each panel is composed of a split field: the lower half in stretched fabric—ranging from everyday cottons to specially sourced cashmere—selected for their rich texture and surface depth; the upper half in a precisely cut sheet of acrylic glass, seemingly resting within the wooden frame. Transparent or opaque, the acrylic introduces a crisp, reflective plane above the fabric, creating a striking contrast between soft, absorbent textile and smooth, polished surface. The geometric division is constant, yet the interplay of colour, opacity, and texture shifts from panel to panel. Seen together, these variations establish a visual rhythm that is both restrained and dynamic, rewarding sustained viewing. Eiben’s practice, rooted in contemporary abstraction, draws on the legacy of modernist formalism while introducing a tactile sensibility that is unmistakably his own. Giggle London offers collectors an opportunity to acquire a significant work that encapsulates the artist’s precise material choices, compositional clarity, and ability to transform simple forms into multi-layered experiences.
